Beautiful Dresses for a Cruise Vacation resort wear & cocktail dresses

cocktail dresses for cruise ships

You may not wear many maxis back home, but cruise maxi dresses are ideal for this type of vacation. Expect two on a six to eight-day voyage, and two or three on a voyage that’s nine to 13 days long. If you’re on a two-week cruise or longer, plan for at least three to four formal nights or more. If you’re someone who likes to keep things casual, then that’s no issue either. While we’d suggest not eating the main dining room or nicer specialty restaurants on that night, you can wear what you want around the ship.

Pleated Halter Neck Maxi Dress

Fortunately, many cruise ships have one or more "formal nights," where guests can put on their fanciest outfits and strut their stuff during an evening of fine dining under the stars at sea. On Cunard cruises, most guests wear suits and cocktail dresses every night, with a strict black-tie dress code on Gala Evenings. Luxury cruise lines such as Silversea, Crystal Cruises and Seabourn also tend to be very formal. Most cruise ships have formal nights because guests enjoy dressing up, enjoying fine dining and having professional photos taken. Most cruise ships are elegantly styled and it’s nice to dress up in a glamorous way to match your surroundings and have a fun evening. Oceania's dress code is simple and casual, which may come as a welcome surprise to those who know the line as a luxury option.

Drape Twist Stretch Ruched Maxi Dress

If you want to get a feeling for how formal is formal on a cruise, simply think about what clothing you’ll see at a wedding. On most cruise lines, dressing in formal attire will mean cocktail dresses or elegant pant suits for ladies, and a dark suit or dress pants and sports coat for men. Before you buy clothes to wear, it’s best to look at the dress code your particular cruise line has set.

How Many Formal Nights Are There During the Cruise?

This cruise dress with a deep v-neck and bell sleeves is perfect for various occasions, including swimming, beach outings, and vacations. Its simple A-line style makes it easy to match with shoes and bags, and it’s versatile as a summer sundress, beach cover-up, or casual beach dress. If you want to skip formal night on your cruise, you can always eat in the buffet or one of the other casual restaurants. You might even want to order room service and have dinner on your private balcony. A flowing halter top dress paired with an evening bag clutch is perfect for an evening on a cruise. This fun dress just screams “cruise” while also being perfect for formal night.

Opting for a classic black tuxedo with a crisp white shirt and a bow tie can never go wrong and exudes a timeless charm. Alternatively, a well-fitted dark suit paired with a smart dress shirt and a conservative tie offers a slightly less formal but equally respectable choice. Princess' casual daytime mindset means you can wear the same types of clothing on board as you would during a day ashore — activewear, beachwear and jeans or T-shirts are totally fine. Celebrity Cruises maintains a dress code that's best described as chic-casual. The demographic on board tends to be a bit more upscale than what you'll find on Carnival, Royal Caribbean or Norwegian.

You’re sure to feel like a mermaid in this sparkly fishtail evening dress. Perfect for Christmas and New Year cruises, this is the perfect dress to stand out from the crowd. Around the top, it feels like slightly sticky rubber, so it doesn’t fall down at all, even when dancing.

If you decide that shorts and a t-shirt are as formal as you want to get, you won’t be alone. This short sleeve cover-up dress is an excellent addition to your cruise wardrobe. It’s designed to complement swimsuits, bikinis, and beachwear, making it perfect for beach and poolside outings. Whether you’re strolling on the street, taking photos, or enjoying the scenic beauty during your cruise vacation, this versatile dress is a great choice. Whether you’re strolling on the deck, enjoying a dinner by the sea, or exploring exotic ports of call, this dress offers the versatility and ease of wear that’s well-suited for a cruise adventure.

This off the shoulder maxi dress is perfect for both casual and dressy evenings on a cruise. The ruffle detail and high low bottom makes this dress extra special. The only difference between the first two is that smart casual recommends pantsuits for ladies and jackets for the guys, but skirts or trousers with blouses or collared shirts are fine in both cases.

Can you skip formal night?

Luxury cruise lines like Silversea, Crystal Cruises, and Seabourn tend to have a more formal dress code, with guests often opting for long gowns and tuxedos on formal nights. The emphasis is on dressing for style rather than comfort, with guests willing to sacrifice comfort in exchange for looking their best. The atmosphere is elegant and refined, with a focus on fine dining and high-end entertainment. Discover the perfect formal dresses for cruise that strike the right balance between style and comfort, allowing you to enjoy every moment of your cruise in utmost luxury. Embrace relaxed elegance with our formal cruise dresses, ensuring you're always impeccably dressed for every cruise event.

Whether it’s a sunny day by the pool, a casual evening, a wedding celebration, or a formal event during your cruise, this dress is an ideal choice for your summer vacation. This sexy long maxi dress with a flattering v-neck design is a cruise essential, showcasing your elegant neckline while providing practicality with adjustable spaghetti straps and side pockets. With its comfortable, slightly stretchy fabric, this summer boho maxi dress is perfect for various occasions.

But in the evenings, the dress code is almost always elegant casual, with the exception of the final evening of each cruise (which is casual). That's the case almost all of the time, except for the formal evening gala dinners. On those nights, the main dining room requires men to wear suits or jackets and ties, and cocktail dresses for women. In the evenings, T-shirts and shorts are not permitted in the ships' public areas. Jeans are allowed on casual resort wear nights, as long as they aren't torn or ripped. Women can wear things like casual dresses and skirts; dress pants, shorts, and shirts; nicer jumpsuits or rompers; sundresses; and nice jeans.

By following these reviews and guides, you'll be well-prepared to select the perfect dress for your cruise experience. Black tie attire is generally the fancier option when it comes to dressing for formal night on a cruise ship. This is the time to rock a sparkling floor-length frock, and if you wear heels, put on your strappiest and shiniest. Knowing how to do your hair for a formal event will also keep you looking formal-night-ready from head to toe. This dress is incredibly versatile, making it suitable for a wide range of occasions.

On seven-night cruises, you may have two formal nights and on longer cruises, you may have four or more. Usually, each evening will be designated as either casual or formal and most people choose to wear the attire that suits the dress code for that night. The anticipation builds as the day of your cruise looms on the horizon. Now comes the crucial task of packing your cherished dresses for cruise formal night and accessories to ensure they reach the high seas in impeccable condition.

This dress is an excellent choice for cruise formal nights, featuring a sexy v-neck, elegant ruched high waist, and a comfortable, lightweight design. Perfect for formal or semi-formal cruise occasions like cruise parties, dinners, and formal nights, it pairs beautifully with accessories to capture attention. Royal Caribbean formal nights have the highest expectations for passengers, urging them to put on their finest cocktail dresses, evening gowns, suits or tuxes. As with the line's smart casual dress code, jeans are not allowed in the main dining rooms on formal nights. Windstar Cruises dinner dress code suggests a casual elegant approach -- slacks and collared shirts for men and sundresses, slacks and informal cocktail dresses for women. Shorts, jeans, flip-flops, hats and T-shirts are prohibited throughout the ship during the evening.

For dinner, you'll want to dress it up even more, as the line has a smart-casual dress code at night in most restaurants, including the main dining room. Anything from unripped jeans to dress pants with nice blouses or button-downs is acceptable. On most ships, this clothing will also be acceptable at night in the main dining rooms. For extra-fee restaurants, you might choose to dress up a bit more -- perhaps collared shirts or long-sleeve button-downs for men and slacks with a blouse, or a dress, for women. This is a great casual dress to wear when strolling the decks, having a casual drink by the pool, or going ashore to have a bite at a local cafe.

This tshirt style sundress is comfy and easy to wear on a Bahamas cruise, or any other warm weather cruise. Her lifelong passion for travel has taken her to countless destinations around the globe, but cruising, undeniably, holds a special place in her heart. Judith has embraced the elegance of luxury liners, relished the intimacy of boutique ships, and marveled at the innovation found on the newest megaships. This varied experience makes her a well-rounded and knowledgeable commentator on everything cruise-related. Lastly, the climate and location of the cruise should not be overlooked.

How to Make your Alaska Cruise Travel Easier: Tips

alaska cruise out of seattle

Norwegian Cruise Lines sails out of the Bell Street Pier Cruise Terminal at Pier 66. Pikes Place Market, the Seattle Aquarium, and the Space Needle are all within a 10- to 15-minute walk. Located on the north end of Seattle's waterfront, the Smith Cove Cruise Terminal at Pier 91 serves Celebrity, Princess, Holland America Line, and Royal Caribbean. There are several nearby walking paths and parks as well as a quaint shopping and dining district within the nearby Magnolia neighborhood. If you want to witness these spectacles with a bit more elbow room and enjoy a wide selection of venues, entertainment, and amenities on ship, a mid-size ship is the best cruise ship to take from Seattle to Alaska.

If your flight doesn’t arrive until 11PM the night before your cruise, it probably isn’t worth it to travel to the city center. Instead, consider a hotel near the airport so you can simply land and head straight to bed. For those arriving earlier in the day, though, it’s worth it to find a hotel downtown for easy access to tourist sites. Search for shore excursions on websites like GetYourGuide.com and ShoreExcursionsGroup.com, and compare them to what you see on Royal Caribbean’s Cruise Planner. If prices are lower, or if there’s availability on a tour that’s sold out on the Cruise Planner, there’s no harm in booking through a third party. Alaska cruises on other cruise lines may leave from other ports in the Seattle area.

Still, unlike some lines that cater to an older crowd, Princess doesn't ignore the children's market. Both ships are almost identical, but we give Discovery Princess the edge only because it's newer than Royal Princess. Passengers staying in solo cabins get exclusive access to the Studio Lounge (using their keycards), meaning a maximum of 82 people will share the space. It's yet one more stylish and upscale area for cruisers looking for an upgraded experience to retreat. No one does seafood quite like Alaska—which is why we brought the best of the Great Land on board, so you can experience it all with Princess.

Unless you plan on doing some serious trekking in each port, there’s no need to bring hefty hiking boots or rain boots. A pair of sneakers made from a water-resistant material will keep your feet dry and warm under most weather conditions.

To bathe in the rays of the midnight sun and maybe spot a baby moose, June is your month to cruise from Seattle to Alaska. Between the historic landmarks and modern marvels, the Emerald City is a unique blend of past and present. One of the oldest farmers’ markets in the US, and certainly one of the oldest attractions in Seattle, Pike Place Market has been open for over a hundred years. At the fish market, watch as local fishermen and vendors toss fresh-caught fish in the air, passing each fish through the market until it reaches the customer.

From a balcony stateroom, marvel at the glaciers passing by before enjoying local seafood in one of our many eateries during your seven-day Alaska cruise. Because you will arrive in your embarkation city the night before your cruise, remember to book your hotel stay sooner rather than later. When booking a hotel in Seattle or Vancouver (or Anchorage/Seward for one-way itineraries), you will want to book a hotel in a convenient location. Hopefully, if you have an Alaska cruise booked this summer, you’ve already booked your airfare to and from the cruise port. If you have not done so yet, we recommend booking flights as soon as possible. Fortunately, after nearly a dozen Alaska cruises, our staff are well versed in the ins and outs of cruising to Alaska.

Complete Guide to the Port Canaveral Cruise Port

port canaveral cruise terminal 10

On June 7, 2017, engineering and design works for the new terminal were officially approved. In late-April 2017, Port Canaveral started construction works on a new cruise terminal. For season 2019, the cruise port reported a record berth booking with estimated 4,7+ million passengers. In December 2017, Carnival Cruise Lines announced the homeporting of Carnival Elation in 2019. Starting May 12, 2019, the ship operates year-round scheduled 4-5-day "long weekend" Bahamas cruises.

The best way to drive from Orlando to Port Canaveral Cruise Terminals is on SR-528 (Beachline Expressway), a toll road. In 2024, Princess Cruises will begin to homeport the iconic “love boat” cruise ship, the Caribbean Princess, at Port Canaveral. It will offer Eastern and Western Caribbean itineraries.

Alaska & Pacific Northwest

It’s an easy way to save if you plan to stay in the area beforehand. See our list of Port Canaveral park and cruise hotels here. If you are driving in, your parking decision rests mainly on if you want to save money or want convenience. For those looking to save, we suggest parking at an off-site parking lot. Their rates are considerably less and you can still take the shuttle right to the cruise ship.

Jetty Park

On November 5, 2016, in Port Canaveral arrived its ever largest passenger ship - Oasis of the Seas. The mega-liner docked at the new "Cruise 1 Terminal" (inaugurated in December 2014). Oasis OTS was homeported here replacing the smaller Freedom OTS. They were among the Port's first cruise facilities and can handle not more than 1900 passengers.

Cruise Terminal #5

port canaveral cruise terminal 10

Passengers at Cruise Terminal 9/10 can park outside or in the parking garage. Port Canaveral is divided into two sections by the shipping channel. The northern end of the channel is home to Cruise Terminals 5, 6, 8, and 10. These terminals are easily accessed after turning off FL-528 E toward Port Canaveral/North Cargo Piers. Cruise Hive was established back in 2008 and among the earliest blogs in the industry.

Ft Lauderdale, FL

The lot offers a complimentary shuttle to and from the port, which is just a few minutes away. Like other lots, Park Port Canaveral charges both for the day of arrival and the day of departure. There are other options that are more affordable, as long as you don’t mind a shuttle ride to the terminal. Most shuttles are quick trips (less than 10 minutes) and can drop you off right at the ship. Parking lots include these rides for free in their rates. They also offer a large variety of other packages for parking or transportation only.

North (A Side) Cruise terminals (5, 6, 8,

There is only one road from Orlando to Cape Canaveral — Florida 528 (a toll road also know as the “Beachline”). Located in Brevard County, midway down Florida’s East Coast, Port Canaveral Cruise Terminal is just 46 miles east of Orlando International Airport. The SR-528 toll road, also known as the Bee Line or Beachline Expressway, makes the journey quick and easy, taking motorists less than 45 minutes to go from city to coast. The port’s north side has three large turning basins for these huge ships to turn around before exiting past Jetty Park and into Canaveral Bight and the Atlantic Ocean. We outline each of the terminals, locations and amenities.

Assuming you are coming from Orlando, once you reach Cape Canaveral (after going over two causeways), you will see a roadsign giving you two options. You can either stay on the Beachline to head toward the “B” cruise terminals or you can exit to your right to go to the “A” cruise terminals. More practically, cruise lines offer direct airport to cruise terminal shuttles for those who pre-book the service. Some area hotels also offer cruise terminal shuttle service. With this option, you can park at your cruise terminal’s designated parking garage and simply take a short walk to your ship. The current parking rate is $17 per day, including day of arrival and day of departure.

Navigating The Port Canaveral Cruise Ship Terminals

Follow your cruise line boarding document's suggested time of arrival as local port security measures may not allow guests to arrive more than 30 minutes prior to their scheduled check-in time. A few restrooms are also available within parking garages. Porters are available at each cruise terminal to assist with luggage. The parking fee is waived for vehicles with special equipment, such as wheelchair ramps and lifts, or to those with Florida exemption permits. Oversize parking for RVs is also available at each terminal.

However, cheaper options are available if you’re looking to save. Port Canaveral, FL is about an hour's drive east of Orlando, two hours from Tampa and two and a half hours from Jacksonville. Port Canaveral is the closest city to Disney World and the other theme parks in Orlando, and is next to Cape Canaveral Kennedy Space Center. A wide variety of activities are available near the port, including several miles of beaches and parks, boating, fishing, shopping and several restaurants.

There is also a separate gangway and processing area for the ship’s crew. Expedited check-in desks are on the ground (first floor) level of the terminal with scanning stations, U.S. customs desks and passport control. Elevators, ramps and escalators transport cruisers and their hand luggage to the second floor where they will go through the check-in process. If you've got an upcoming cruise from a Port Canaveral cruise terminal in Florida, here's where each is located, amenities, and more.

From here you will pass the Disney terminal on your left. Eventually the road loops around toward the ship and the Royal Caribbean terminal. The following terminals are on the B side – South side of the port.

However, it’s important to note that cruise terminal assignments can change, the cruise line may use different terminals for various sailings, or may make changes over time. In FY2017, the cruise port handled 4,52+ million passengers (6,4% increase over FY2016). The number of multi-day passengers (4,234+ million) was 7,1% increase over 2016. Statistics showed that just in March 2017, the number of visiting cruiseship tourists was 469,847. This was the Port's 1-month record and a 19% increase over March 2016. Port's FY2017 total revenues were USD 47,4 million (freight and passengers).

Best Cruise Packing List 30 Cruise Essentials + What NOT to Bring!

cruise necessities

Pack them in your carry-on so they're always on hand and less likely to go missing. It’s a good idea to bring disinfecting wipes for your travels – in the airplane or even for the car ride if you’re driving to the cruise ship. If you’re anything like me, you might be due for some new luggage. Make sure it’s lightweight and has 4 spinner wheels so that it’s easy to board your cruise ship and disembark (even if you do self-disembarkation).

Do the math: Cruise ship laundry costs vs. airline baggage fees

Pack a travel coffee mug so you can fill up on the free stuff. I also recommend bringing a reusable water bottle and filling it up at the buffet or even a bar. It helps reduce plastic waste, and you don't bust your budget buying bottled water. Elegant or formal nights bring out cocktail dresses, suits, ties and jackets.

Caribbean Cruise – Get ready for some seriously tropical weather if you’re headed on a Caribbean cruise. Bring extra sunscreen, aloe, a couple of extra swimsuits, and a sarong or two. Knowing what to pack for different types of cruises can be tough – we go into detail about the most common cruise types below. In case of rain, stay dry with a small umbrella or light raincoat, and prevent bug bites with some travel-sized mosquito repellent. Whether you cruise in an inside cabin, oceanview or balcony cabin, having a motion sensor nightlight is very practical. Cruise ship cabins can be extra dark at night, especially if you've pulled the blackout curtains closed or have booked a windowless inside cabin.

TSA-Approved Luggage Locks

Choose a model that also includes USB ports to easily recharge all your devices, and you’ll be fully powered and ready to go for each day’s activities. On the first day of your cruise, it may take a few hours for your luggage to be delivered to your stateroom, but you don’t have to wait to have fun. Stuff a carry-on backpack with essentials like your cell phone, wallet, bathing suit and sunglasses, and start swimming, sunning or exploring your ship immediately.

I recommend getting at least 2 packs of these packing cubes, with the various sizes, in different colors. This way you can have cubes for each member of the family. What do you think the best items to bring on a cruise are? If you’ve got any questions about what to take on a cruise ship or want to share your ideas on the best things to bring on a cruise, leave us a comment below. These packing essentials to bring on a cruise will help you organize your luggage. Start thinking about cruise essentials to pack and laying them out on a spare bed or in a storage box in a quiet corner of your house.

Tech Items & Electronics Accessories to Bring on a Cruise

Choose a discreet option and be sure the straps are the appropriate size to fit properly around your waist or hips. These highly portable bags take up very little space but can expand to great sizes to hold all sorts of necessities, no matter what you need to carry along wherever you are visiting. Depending on the bag, you may also have water resistant materials, secure inner pockets, built-in clips, or other options to organize your gear. Make sure you know what gadgets and gizmos to pack for your cruise. Here are our picks for the best cruise accessories to bring aboard. When boarding a cruise, you must have your official identification, such as a passport or government-issued ID, and your boarding pass.

Prohibited Items on a Cruise (Do Not Bring)

Realistically, there is no need to spend money on more towels if you don’t want to. Disinfecting wipes are important to bring to sanitize your cruise cabin surfaces. We also use them for shore excursions to disinfect surfaces on shuttles and travel to and from our cruise ship. Rare is the cruise cabin with enough electrical outlets in the spaces where you want them most. Solve that problem by packing a couple of outlet extenders.

If you prefer not to fuss with towel clips, towel bands from Cruise On can be a great alternative. These strong, sturdy bands are large enough to attach around most deck chairs and will firmly hold towels down even in the breeziest conditions. When you’re ready to leave, the bands can also help roll up your towels and other beach gear to keep it compact.

Bring swimsuits, tank tops, loose shorts, cover ups and sundresses. Make sure to bring the right accessories, like sunglasses, sun hats, or visors. Bring some athletic clothes and comfortable closed-toed shoes to wear while exploring the cities you’ll dock in, and in case there is a rock climbing wall on board! Dining attire is usually “cruise casual” in ship restaurants, so bring some casual-cute clothing like simple dresses, and nice flats.

Packing with layers in mind can provide more space than packing individual outfits for every possible weather scenario. You'll be prepared for travel delays and can take advantage of airline offers for gift cards or travel vouchers if you volunteer for a different flight due to overbooking. I once made $1,200 taking an overnight bump in Frankfurt while returning from a cruise. If I hadn't packed an extra outfit in my carry-on bag, I might not have been tempted to take the deal. Even if you're flying straight from home to the cruise port, pack like you're spending a night in a hotel. Pack a complete change of clothes and necessary toiletries in your carry-on bag.

Like it or hate it, cruise lines are now requiring proof of stabbing. This vaccination card holder provides easy access to your immunization record. It also assures that oh-so-valuable proof of vax is not lost at sea or port.

Night lights can help you find your way to the bathroom in the middle of the night without waking your cabinmates. Cruise ship showers are notoriously cramped and often lack functional amenities. Magnetic hooks corral caps, visors, belts, backpacks, jackets and charging cords. Magnetic whiteboards allow you to leave messages for cabinmates.

Ideal for drying hand-washed items or drying wet swimsuits. A portable fan may seem surprising, but a portable fan is a top recommendation and one of the most popular items on our list. Battery-operated, foldable, and easy to pack in your luggage.

If you do plan to head to the beach or lounge by the pool, a set or two of towel clips can keep your beach towel in place no matter how breezy the day may be. While your phone might be able to resist a few random splashes, it won’t hold up to being immersed in water and isn’t suitable for underwater photography. Instead, opt for an inexpensive underwater camera for those once-in-a-lifetime snorkeling or scuba-diving shots, or to be sure you get great photos at the beach or pool. Long corridors filled with matching doors can be confusing, especially early in your cruise when you might not remember your cabin number right away. Adding simple decorations to your cabin door can help you find it more easily, or can coordinate a group so everyone can find other friends and family members.

We go into great depth on the cruise essentials clothing you’ll need for the various cruise types. Do you need cruise packing lists, to-do checklists, shore excursion forms and more? Over the last year, I put together a 47 page cruise travel planner that has everything you need as you plan and get ready for your cruise.

Everyone knows to bring some sandals if you’re headed to the beach, but if you’re going on a cruise then you should also bring some comfy walking shoes. Excursions (or just exploring the port) involves a lot of walking. You don’t want your feet to be uncomfortable while you are on vacation.

america cruise line reviews

He retired the end of October and will definitely be missed. Have told many people about this cruise and look forward to going on another American Cruise Lines adventure. Here is our review of American Cruise Lines after sailing with them on their 8-day Great Rivers of Florida river cruise. You get to meet a lot of people, don't get lost in the crowds. All the staff was very friendly, accommodating and respectful. They are always available to answer questions and manage to smile even if they have probably heard that question asked at least 20 times.

American Cruise Lines Reviews

American Cruise Lines says that the average age for all of its passengers is low 60s. But that's not what we observed on our Lower Mississippi River cruise. On that sailing, the average age was easily 75, with many passengers older than that.

Travel Visa Services

I love the fact that it maxes at 100 guests and it is a casually refined craft that makes you feel... While the food, our stateroom and the tours were all above average, what really sets this line... Listen, you can have the best ships in the world, but if the staff and crew can’t make you feel at home and well taken care of, then forget it. The experience, the atmosphere, and the vibe that the crew created on this cruise were the best we’ve ever experienced on any cruise ship. And for those of you who might have dietary restrictions, on the first day of sailing, the cruise line offered a meeting with the chef to discuss your individual needs.

Viking Cruises

While most of the material online pertained to reviews on specific ships, our interest was intended towards comparing Cruise Lines rather than individual voyagers. Using a consensus approach, we shortlisted the cruise lines which had been recommended most frequently. Further research was narrowed to these cruise lines only. The Columbia and Snake river cruise was like taking a week long history class. We followed the Lewis & Clark rout via river and were treated very well by the friendly crew.

The meals were scrumptious and even offered half portions when less hungry. The cruise was a 5 in so many ways but I could not give the entertainment and the food an exceptional score. Tho some food was excellent, other times, especially at lunch, it was not.The staff were indeed a 5 in every way.For the price here in USA I expected more than on other riverboats. This was my second cruise with American Cruise Lines. My sister and I had a wonderful trip full of fun and fellowship.

Carol and I enjoyed sailing with ACL on their Great Rivers of Florida itinerary. We sailed on the St. Johns River, the Tolomato River, and the Intercoastal Waterway. We never felt a wave, and Amelia Island and St. Augustine were the stars of the show. One of our clients wrote on our Instagram Page that Amelia Island was her happy place. The crew was friendly, accommodating, and accessible. Small numbers and open seating for dining made it easy to get to know just about all the passengers.

Tour guides were extremely informative and provided extensive historical information. Food was excellent and had something for everyone. Colin, Thania, Mark and Princess get high marks for their service and dedication.

The staff from top to bottom could not…

Labeled Verified, they’re about genuine experiences.Learn more about other kinds of reviews. We just wish our guide for one of the walking tours had a microphone since we couldn’t hear a lot of what was said. Tours were great, staff was always pleasant and helpful. You almost made 5star (and I still think 4 star is a great rating) but in comparison to other river cruises such as Viking or Scenic you’re not quite at that level. However I also need to consider price and I would say that in comparison you do provide great value per dollar.. We had the pleasure of sailing on American Cruise Line's brand new ship - the American Eagle!

Passport Services

The ship measures 241feet and carries 109 passengers at full occupancy with 50 crew. A stand out facility is the adventure and swim deck, equipped with kayaks and a tender to offer a different perspective of the waterways being visited. Launching in fall 2023, American Glory is the second of 12 identical ships in American Cruise Lines' Project Blue Eagle-class, which features all-new environmentally friendly hybrid catamaran-style vessels. Great for a single woman fun safe way to travel and be with interesting folks. Love history so the speaker are always a hit for me. There wasn't a single aspect of my cruise on the lower Mississippi River that I would change.

Photo books are a fantastic way to keep our special memories in a tangible, beautiful format instead of just storing pictures on ... Luggage is something that everyone will need at some point in their life, whether it be a backpack for an overnight trip or school, or a full set of luggage ... In collaboration with the Port of Dover, Fred Olsen Cruise Lines enhances its 2024 cruise packages with free parking and onboard credit. The cruise line's move has angered some passengers and prompted social-media accusations that the effort was profit-motivated. The line also doesn't nickel-and-dime with additional charges -- there's no casino, specialty restaurants or bar onboard, and the line includes a shore excursion in every port. Fares also include gratuities, a pre-night hotel stay and transfers. I loved the staff, shore excursions and excellent bus drivers especially Tina. Shore excursions had something for everyone and some were complimentary or extra cost.

Holland America Cruise Line is another historic cruise company that began its operations back in 1873. It makes great efforts to acquaint its passengers with its achievements in shaping the cruise industry over the last 150 years. However, in the modern era, it has gained a lot of praise for its voyages into the waters of Alaska for which it has been honored with several accolades over the years. The cruise line also has a partnership with BBC Earth, under which it hosts seminars and musical performances themed towards exploring nature and wildlife. Moreover, it also hosts other intellectual seminars to familiarize travelers with the culture and festivities of the region it visits. The small ships make every cruise interesting as you can go to towns that nobody else can visit.

For example, from the moment we walked on the ship, Alicia, the ship’s Hotel General Manager, greeted us by name, and she was always magically around, making sure that we were delighted in every way. One passenger commented how she worked miracles to get a prescription aboard the ship, and we found in her a sincere desire to make us feel at home and well taken care of. And again, this just wasn’t me.  We heard the same from many of our co-passengers. You don't have to walk a mile to get somewhere!
